BOOK REVIEW - The Average American Male, Chad Kultgen

I just finished reading this book last night. And thought the ending was somewhat humorous, I would have to say the book was mediocre at best.

The book covers the main characters relationship with 2 different girlfriends and in the end, comes to the conclusion that both girls are the same, and perhaps all girls are after you have dated them for a year.

Aside from the authors attempt to convey this message the book revolves around the idea that guys only think about sex and anything related to sex. The book is probably most catching because of its blunt use of language and 98% focus on sex, sex, girls, tits, anal sex, and more sex.

Though some might describe the book as ground breaking and daring, I would say it falls short of such glory. The book starts off strong but it appears the writer got tired of writing toward the last chapters of the book. What starts off as 8-15 page chapters, switches to 1-2 page chapters by the end of the book. The writing style changes as well. The author gives more brief overviews, or paragraphs packed with instances and facts, rather then providing events or details to convey his meaning.

Aside from this, I was occasionally disgusted by the things I read. I’ve started looking at my boyfriend quiet differently. And if the title is true and the male in the story is the “Average American Male” well then, I might just have to dedicate the rest of my life to becoming a lesbian.

All in all, it’s a short read, makes for some interesting conversation, and personally I like the cover. So when you are about to go on a date, be sure to leave the book out on the coffee table, that way when you bring the boy back to your place, he might just pick it up, and who knows what conversations you might find yourself in.
