obsession

This photo is part of Garance Dore's post.

I'm sorry for posting some else’s post; however, I love the photo so much I couldn't help myself.

You see, my husband and I just got cameras. First, my husband bought a fancy-dancy little Nikon digital thing. You know, the heavy duty camera that all the super-cool, super-serious photographer folks have. Basically, a camera that takes awesome photos without even trying. The digital is great, but my husband doesn't like to share. And it's not so fun walking around while he takes photos.

So what do I do? I run right out and buy a 1964 Canon camera. Yea, the film kind. My camera is cooler, I swear.

None the less, now we are the dynamic duo - strolling the streets of San Francisco, fully armed and ready to shoot.

Okay, okay. So my point is, I'm slightly obsessed with photos right now, and I really liked this one.

It’s about time

It’s only taken 8 years, but finally a solo black model will grace the cover of Vogue Paris. Fair to say, black models have shared the cover, but it hasn’t been since Liya Kebede in May 2002, that a single black model has owned it all to herself. Rose Cordero will own it this March.

forward

For lack of a better, more appropriate line…the show must go on.

President and chief executive of Gucci Group, Robert Polet, announced today that the Alexander McQueen label will continue. "We believe in the future of the brand," Polet said.

According to the reports, the Alexander McQueen label will show in Paris, currently scheduled for March 9. Chairman and Chief Executive of PPR, François-Henri Pinault, was quoted in the statement saying, “This is the best tribute we could offer to [McQueen].”
