For lack of a better, more appropriate line…the show must go on.

President and chief executive of Gucci Group, Robert Polet, announced today that the Alexander McQueen label will continue. "We believe in the future of the brand," Polet said.

According to the reports, the Alexander McQueen label will show in Paris, currently scheduled for March 9. Chairman and Chief Executive of PPR, François-Henri Pinault, was quoted in the statement saying, “This is the best tribute we could offer to [McQueen].”

Alexander McQueen died one week ago tomorrow, on Feb 12, 2010. His mother died less than two weeks prior of Feb 2, and her funeral was scheduled for Feb 13. Police found multiple notes with McQueen’s body, in which he tries to explain the taking of his life. Content of these notes has yet to be released, with more information scheduled to be released at a later date.
