the comeback kid

Tom Ford knows how to do business. He’s the master of mystery, the savant of sexy, and quite frankly the most formidable force in fashion in the last 20 years. Ford’s return to womenswear this past September, after a six year hiatuses, was the hottest and hardest to get ticket in town. The ubber-exclusive show allowed no photos, had only one photographer (Terry Richardson), and provided no public information on the highly anticipated collection until this past month.

The collection rides the wave of current 70’s fever—sequins, wide-legged pants, feathers, and one fresh afro. “The seventies is what I love.” said Ford in the December issue of Vogue, “Soft, touchable beauty is what I love. I want to be touching the skin; I prefer no bra—I want to be able to slip in my hand.”

Umm, Hello!

Having all things within his control, Ford has timed the release of information to a “T”.

Ford took over the November issue of Paris Vogue. See spread after spread of the designer’s photography and collection.

Images of the Ford’s fabulous fashion show, featuring Beyoncé, Julianne Moore, and Lauren Hutton are being released in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar U.K.

There is also a fabulous interview with Mr. Ford in the December issue of Vogue.

You've heard his interview with Terry Gross, right? My favorite part was toward the end when he talks about how people have gotten so accustomed to fake body parts they've forgotten what real looks like.

Tom Ford is a genius, hands down. Have you seen the "Single Man"? Such a great film, the style in the film is very Tom Ford. Fantastic!

He wants to be able to slip in his hand? I thought he was gay. Or is he just speaking hypothetically? Whatever, his designs are genius.
