Maison Martin Margiela celebrated his 20th anniversary with a two decade retrospective at the Antwerp Mode Museum. The 6 month exhibition ran from last September 2008 till this past Sunday, February 8, 2009.
Though the man himself is a mystery to most, he rarely shows his face or engages in interviews, and yet his designs are unmistakable and the utmost desirable for men and women alike.
I wasn't lucky enough to make it to Belgium to check it out, but I did find some fantastic photos of the exhibit at Antwerp Fashion Observer. Take a look, you'll leave inspired.

Martin Margiela, Or the quintessence of an austere/ radical vision : Fashion without GLAM But sublimated by an exceptional sense of uncluttered/conceptual creativity !!!

Nothing beats his cut-out boots. With the all the rain in Vancouver, though, I just couldn't justify them.
He really is an artist and visionary.
I LOVE Margiela! I love fashion designers\music\movies that are really artsy and avant-garde! Thanks for commenting on my blog!
