July Giveaway

It took me a while to get around to posting the July giveaway. But I finally found the perfect giveaway, this cheese plate.

I love this plate. In fact, I even considered keeping it for my self. I found it at an antique shop in West Seattle last weekend and couldn't walk out of the store without it.

That being said, post a comment telling me what your favorite cheese is. I am actually going to go out and try each one. The cheese I like best is the winner. The best part of this giveaway, is that it gives me an excuse to eat 10 lbs of cheese in the next 3 weeks.

I will post the winner on July 25. That gives you a little over 2 1/2 weeks to post your comments on your favorite cheese.

May the best cheese win!

If that isn't the best idea ever :)

My favorite cheese is Smoked Gouda. I tried it about ten years ago at a wine & cheese tasting event and it's been my favorite since.

Oh yum! "Mrs. Quicke's Cheddar" is great but may be hard to find so my back-up fromage is a new one I just experienced:

Haloumi, but not "straight up." Lightly oil a frying or grill pan, give a quick grill to thick Haloumi slices, then lightly drizzle with honey. Haloumi heaven.

My favorite hands down is
Queso Fresco from Peru
I don't know if you'll be able to find it, but the Mexican queso freso is very similar.

It's so good I just eat it by itself! no need for brear or crackers!

What a fabulous idea! Hmm. Let's go dig in the fridge... There's a delightful apple-smoked Gouda, some Irish Dubliner (lovely with pears), an herbed goat cheese from Salt Spring Island's Moonstruck Cheese... but none of my favourite, the triple-creme Pierre Robert.

Oh that is is sad!

I don't usually have this much fancy cheese round the house but there was a birthday party this weekend so we splashed out a bit...

Seeing that you are in the Seattle, WA area... maybe you should go to a cheese tasting here:
http://shop.thecheesecellar.com/Location.aspx

I was just on their site... and the cheese looks yummy... I was trying to find the name of a great cheese I had at a catered party... I had asked the name... but I can't remember so I looked on their site... besides I figured if you were going to be tasting cheese I recommend... it should be in your area.

Love cheese plate for dessert... here are four that sound similar to what I tasted... Vigneron, Raclette, Mahon or Appenzeller... ENJOY your search for FABULOUS cheese!

I hope you will be giving us a breakdown and review of all the cheese you sample!

BTW... don't forget to add some fruit to that cheese diet... if you know what I mean ;)

Off to add you to my link section... can't wait to read about your finds!

Manchego. Not from a supermarket...go to a specialty store where they can get you the good stuff.

Great idea!

It's not fancy shmancy but my ALL TIME fav is Muenster cheese. And when I was little I called it "Monster cheese". So go eat some monster cheese and let me know what you think! =)

My favorite cheese - how do I choose just one. I think I could live on cheese, so yum. Anyways, probably Emmental...it is quite strong, but I like that about it.
