show and tell

I’m sure you read Garance’s blog post a back in May, regarding her stellar opportunity to shot along side Peter Lindbergh. The pair headed out to St. Barth’s to shoot the David Yurman Fall 2010 campaign. My understanding is the Lindbergh shot the ads, while Dore shot the behind the scenes images seen here.

Just a little show-and-tell here. A couple of new images have surfaces, along side the only ad release to-date below.

film n fashion

There are a variety of excellent examples of fashion and film melding together to make perfection. All I have to say is Audrey Hepburn or The Single Man, and you understand. I mean, did you see the clothes in The Devil Wears Prada? I know, I was jealous too.

Martin Scorcese’s recently made another addition to the fashion-film family with his commercial for Chanel's new Men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel. Sadly, I can’t say I’m a fan. I mean, the Rolling Stones' "She Said Yeah” doesn’t exactly screen Coco to me.

But then again, what the hell do I know. I’m a girl and Audrey Tautou in Chanel No. 5 just makes more sense to me.

disappearing act

Don't get me wrong, I love a good ad campaign. Yes, yes, I can get swept away by skinny models looking super cool, in their designer clothes and crazy hair. However, when my fashion fantasy is interrupted by an emaciated model, who looks more like an alien that a woman…well, perhaps the ad has failed.

I mean seriously, where did her waist go?
